When we were little Nippers
Old folks jokes of “China Clippers”-
Was not of sail craft shipping
To far off ports North and South
But meant enshrined on gummy places
Where these were stuck behind their faces
In their mouth!
But when the little blighters
Mock our artificial biters
I’ll brook no belly aching
When their real teeth take to aching!
I’ll ignore their piteous whine
And the last laugh will be mine! (revised)
